Since NeoMed’s inception, delivering enteral feedings safely has been the hallmark of our products. Until now, feeding tube design has largely focused on creating hub connections that avoid dangerous misconnection errors. The NeoMed Feeding Tube line moves beyond hub design to address factors that affect patient safety and outcome.

It is well known that poorly designed feeding tubes can contribute to developmental delay, tissue trauma, and the transfer of dangerous bacteria into the intestinal track. Bacterial growth and transfer is often attributed to material pooling within closed distal tips, poor bifurcated hub designs, and non-swabbable, recessed, or threaded hub caps.

It is NeoMed’s philosophy that feeding tubes should be designed to reduce tissue trauma, which is common with oversized sharp side port holes and sharp unfinished distal tips. Distal tips should be smooth, well-formed, and open. Exposed surfaces should be accessible and easily cleaned. Improve patient outcomes and reduce the risk of common gut disease or necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) with the use of NeoMed’s Silicone and Polyurethane Feeding Tubes.
